Here are some facts about sunflowers: 

• Origin: Sunflowers are native to North America.
• Sunlight: Sunflowers need lots of sunlight to thrive, ideally at least 6–8 hours a day.
• Seeds: Sunflower seeds are a tasty snack, and can be used in baked goods, salads, and trail mix.
• Size: Sunflowers can grow to be 1.8–3 meters tall, depending on the variety. The tallest sunflower ever recorded was 30 feet tall.
• Composition: Sunflowers are made up of thousands of smaller flowers.
• Uses: Sunflowers were used by Native Americans for food, medicine, and oil as far back as 3000 BC.
• Color: Sunflowers are typically yellow, but can also be red and purple.
• Art: Sunflowers are featured in many works of art, including Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers series.
• History: Tsar Peter the Great brought sunflowers back to Russia after seeing them in the Netherlands.
• Environmental impact: Sunflowers are hyperaccumulators of heavy metals, and have been used to clean up the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site.

Background wood is painted yellow. Letters are hand painted black and all wood is protected with a clear polyurethane. Comes with a bee design burlap bow.
